Welcome to our class page where you can find out about what we are learning and see pictures of some of our highlights. There is also a parent resources section below where you will find links to learning resources that you can use with your child at home.

In Year 1 & 2, Miss Plaice is our class teacher and Miss Parvin is our teaching assistant who supports us with our learning. Children always have the opportunity to make progress, challenge themselves and develop their skills. We understand that each child’s learning journey looks different and aim to meet the varying needs for each child at their different steps.

We love getting active every Tuesday during our PE lessons. We always remember to come to school dressed in our PE kit and take our earrings out.

Reading at home

Reading with your child at home is a crucially important way to support their learning. Reading books together, reading to your child and hearing them read are all key ways to help your child to develop into an able and reader and writer.

We expect to see your child’s ‘Home Reading Diary’ in school every day. We ask that children read at home each night. They will be entered into a prize draw on a Friday if they have read three times or more at home.

Our homework is set on a Friday and should be returned the following Wednesday. We have a spelling test each Friday and will be given a new set of spellings to take home. Please see the resources below to help support your child at home.

Coming soon – we will also have a home loan shed outside our cloakroom door. Please feel free to sign books and activities in and out as often as you like.

How will I know I am doing well?

We all follow our three school rules – Be Safe, Be Ready, Be Respectful. We are always talking about how to make the right choice and how we have a responsibility to ensure everybody in our class is safe and learns to the best of their ability. We show mutual respect. We love to be rewarded with smilies, phone calls home and Dale postcards.

As the year progresses you will be able to see some of the exciting learning opportunities we have had in each term by clicking on the images below.

Below are free resources that will help support your child’s learning. If you require any help with printing please just ask.
